East coast’s PWill is elevating DJing Culture on his own terms

Disc jockeys are crucial to have at an event, more important than many may comprehend. Sure, someone can pass the aux and play tunes straight out of a playlist, but it takes skill and passion for a set to flow smoothly and liven up a party.

For Bronx native PWILL, the journey of evolving into the People’s DJ started 4 years ago. As a freshman in college, PWILL decided to take his love for music and do more.

“I wanted to DJ because I wanted to be the one to provide people with a guaranteed great time when they party with me” he says. “I wanted to be the person that brings everyone together through music.”

He went from performing his first set at a college basement party to performing alongside Lil Uzi, Gucci Mane and Metro Boomin which is beyond impressive. Without being inspired by Scratch Bastid and Jazzy Jeff and constantly motivating himself to be better, PWILL would probably not have had such an impact in the NY party scene.

With three clean mixes on his Soundcloud and a strong catalog of performances, PWILL is only getting started on dominating. His latest nostalgic compilation of the hottest tracks of the 2000’s is one of my favorite throwback mixes thus far.
Sounds and moods by PWILL can be heard at his next gig February 16 at Colgate University, Valentine’s Day weekend . He’s putting on for his home of NYC, streaming 10 of the hottest songs in the street in his new project, a monthly tape “YERRR”, dropping its first installment February 19th on Spinrilla. There’s nothing stopping the vibes, be sure to check him out and stream the SoundsByWill Vol. 1: 2000’s mix below!
