South Jersey’s Jay Solstice Has A Voice You Can’t Ignore

written by Justin Walker January 3, 2018

Jay Solstice is an artist that’s pushed a lot of work in 2017, but not an oversaturating way.

With months in between, his projects are still just enough to keep the audience intrigued. The South Jersey rapper released is latest EP Carmina a few months back. The entire project can take listeners to the point of unforgiving lyricism yet still addressing a lifetime of emotional ties both professional and personal. There’s a striking tone to Jay’s voice that you just can’t ignore when one of his’s tracks play, and songs like “Ricura” and “Eses” make that very eminent from the first few seconds. It’s more than fulfilling to see Jay experiment with his sound throughout this EP. By the end of the project, we’re left with an idea of just how versatile Jay can get. Oddly, that versatility is a bit mysterious. We have no idea what route he’ll take next, but this is a promising artist coming to you in 2018.
